The 48X is exclusively only sold in Australia and is the perfect partner for local distribution or B-double intrastate. It is widely the most tested and the best truck Western Star has ever built.
The 48X has a set-forward front axle, and a 113.5inches bumper-to-back-of-cab (BBC) which makes it perfect for any application but still nimble enough to drive around the city. Perfect hybrid to handle those long-haul interstate drives and metro driving.
The 48X is available with the Detroit DT12-OV and DT12-OVX automated manual transmissions, and the Eaton Fuller manual transmission. The GCM can range from 72,500kg to up to 140,000kg with the DT12-OVX. Contact us for more details.
The 48X is only available in 6×4 configuration however, it has a variety of available cabs. That includes day cabs (trench and standard) and sleeper cabs (36” low trench, 36”and 48”mid integrated).
HEAVY DUTY FRAME – Constructed with steel-reinforced aluminum cab and steel doors the 48X can be fitted with numerous sleeper options; Day cab – trench or standard. Sleeper – 36″ low trench, 36″, 48″ & 60″ mid integrated.
ONE-PIECE WINDSHIELD – The field of vision is improved by the unimpeded view provided by the one-piece, roped-in design. Optional single or three-piece rear window with great visibility is available.
SOLAR TINTED GLASS – The standard solar-tinted glass improves operator comfort by lowering cabin heat.
HEAVY DUTY BONNET – Fitted with an impact-resistant, durable, lightweight moulded resin hood with sloped high-visibility design.
KEY MATERIALS – Stainless steel and aluminum bright works, including grille with pronounced centre bars, air intake covers, mirror back covers, and sun visor plate.
ISO TESTED – ISO Tech bonnet suspension system and 113″ BBC.
POWER HOOD – Standard ’power hood’ in set-forward axle configuration.
SUPERIOR VISIBILITY – White daytime running lights are included to make the truck more visible to incoming traffic and on the job site.
DESIGNED TO LAST – LEDs designed to provide full illumination of the road and work site, including the side of the vehicle to help reduce eye fatigue.
NO REPLACEMENTS NEEDED – Designed with high-impact polycarbonate lenses with an enhanced hard coating protection to protect against cracking, scratching, or damage to the headlight caused by road or job site debris.
Standard on all Detroit engines, Virtual Technician remote diagnostic service on the X-Series will help increase uptime. If the truck has a fault, the Virtual Technician sends you an alert, notifys you of the severity of the fault and how to fix it. Parts can also be ordered before hand to ensure less downtime.
